SOUND OR NOISE
When children’s voices, music and adult conversation all come together, it can be difficult to hold a conversation. High ceilings and hard surfaces such as tiles, concrete or glass cause sound to bounce between walls and ceilings. This results in echoes and reverberation, which can be highly irritating and tiring for those in the room.
FibroTech acoustic panels help reduce these issues. You not only achieve better acoustics, but also create a pleasant and comfortable indoor environment, while adding a warmer, cosier and more Scandinavian look.
STONE panels
A series of acoustic panels with a wide range of distinctive looks. Here you get a unique acoustic panel with a beautiful stone-effect finish. The STONE series is available in four variants, each with its own unique appearance, while offering exactly the same sound-absorbing benefits as the rest of our product range. This is a high-quality acoustic panel made with 9 mm MDF and designed to be slightly narrower than, for example, the PREMIUM series. The back of each panel features a 9 mm polyester backing made from recycled plastic, which provides excellent sound absorption. STONE Concrete, Rusty and Pattern can be installed in any room, except wet rooms or other areas where the panels may come into contact with water. STONE White Marble, however, can be installed in wet rooms with a humidity level below 55%. The White Marble surface is foil-wrapped on three sides and does not absorb moisture, making it suitable for bathrooms and other rooms that require frequent cleaning. However, it must not come into direct contact with water. The acoustic panels in the STONE series measure 18 × 520 × 2440 mm.
SOUND ABSORPTION
The long reverberation time in a room without acoustic solutions can be reduced by using materials that effectively absorb sound. This is best achieved by covering larger surfaces such as walls and ceilings. Installing materials with a high level of sound absorption, such as acoustic panels, on either surface will reduce the room’s reverberation time.
THIS IS WHY FIBROTECH ACOUSTIC PANELS ABSORB SOUND
The narrow wooden slats are mounted on a 9 mm polyester panel, which does not reflect sound in the same way as a hard material would.
It is FibroTech’s thick polyester backing panel that absorbs the sound, improves the acoustics in the room and makes all the difference. The polyester also has a high density and is securely attached with several staples, ensuring there are no loose edges.
For additional sound reduction and Class A sound absorption, 45 mm of mineral wool can be installed behind the panels.
FSC® CERTIFIED – FOR RESPONSIBLE FORESTRY
FibroTech products are 100% FSC® certified. This means that the wood used comes from responsibly managed forests. No illegal logging takes place, and endangered forest areas are not destroyed.
THE BLACK POLYESTER BACKING PANEL IS GREEN
– Because it is made from recycled plastic.
The highly important and effective backing panels used on FibroTech acoustic panels are produced from recycled plastic, with respect and consideration for our planet.

INSTALLATION
Before installing your acoustic panels, there are a few things you should be aware of. First, the panels should always be stored indoors. It is important that air can circulate around them so they do not absorb moisture. A large proportion of the material used in the acoustic panels is wood. This means that the panels may have a slight wooden smell when you bring them into your home. The scent can be compared to that of a new wooden floor, which also often has a distinctive smell at first. We therefore recommend allowing the panels to acclimatise properly before installation. Store them in a garage or shed for a few days, after which the scent will gradually fade.
FibroTech acoustic panels can be installed on both walls and ceilings, either horizontally or vertically. The choice is entirely yours. They can be secured using screws, adhesive or a combination of both.
INSTALLATION USING SCREWS
To secure your acoustic panels with screws, you will need approximately 15–18 black screws per panel. When installing the panels on battens, the spacing should be 60 mm. Insert the screws through the black polyester backing panel. This makes them virtually invisible, as the black screws blend into the black polyester. Make sure throughout the installation process that the panels remain level or perfectly vertical.
INSTALLATION USING ADHESIVE
To avoid using screws, you can install the acoustic panels using FibroTech mounting adhesive. Apply the adhesive to the back of the panels in several small spots across the polyester backing. The adhesive provides a strong initial grip and becomes even stronger as it cures. It can be used on surfaces such as plasterboard walls, plasterboard ceilings, brick walls and rendered walls. Always ensure that the surface is clean and dry before applying the adhesive. You should also make sure that the panels remain level or perfectly vertical during installation.
If the dimensions of the acoustic panel do not suit your project, the panels can easily be adjusted and cut from the back using a fine-toothed saw blade.
